In common English it is customary to say that the manager signs a player, as he normally has final say

Must admit when he was signed I was thinking about that Mexican winger .... too light , tippy tappy & not strong enough.
Became clear straight away he had more to him and has got better and better. An absolute revelation and reckon he still has more to give. Fantastic little player & don't think the Modric comparisons will be too far from the mark.
I suspect they may announce the permanent signing for £7.4m ( SEVEN POINT FOUR MILLION!) just before the Man Utd FA Cup game just to bring things to a FRENZY.
